1975 – The Spark in Southern California

My journey began in 1975. Upon graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Electrical Engineering, I faced a stagnant North East job market with zero opportunities. To kickstart my career, I packed my bags and moved across the country to Southern California, landing a role working on complex systems development for the Hughes Aircraft Company.

While grocery shopping at the Ralphs Supermarket in Torrance, California, I experienced firsthand the frustration of price guessing. Standing in the aisles, I thought about how incredible it would be to know the exact price of products across different competing stores, brands, and sizing packages before ever reaching the checkout lane. The raw blueprint for ShoppeMate was born—but the required micro-computing technology did not yet exist.

The Evolution – Chasing the Tech Curve

Refusing to let the idea fade, I spent vast amounts of my personal time manually cataloging product prices, tracking weight values, and sizing variances across multiple grocery chains. Over my engineering career, I watched the computer revolution unfold and began teaching myself software engineering to build the engine my vision required.

I started exploring early software frameworks like Microsoft's Visual Basic, which finally allowed me to build visual user interfaces linked directly to programmatic math calculation loops. Next came the birth of relational databases, giving me the vital structural capability to store, sort, and query a massive web of grocery store pricing tables. Desktop visual tools eventually paved the way for Bulletin Board Systems (BBS), and ultimately, modern internet web technology.

2007 – Power in the Palm of Your Hand

As mobile phone displays started showing early text data capabilities, I knew the horizon was close. Then came the introduction of the Apple smartphone—the absolute breakthrough I had been waiting decades for. For the first time in human history, consumers possessed the raw processing power to run deep grocery price comparisons in the absolute palm of their hands.

However, an immense operational hurdle remained: every single grocery store stocks thousands of unique inventory items, and prices shift constantly. To solve the problem of getting completely accurate data without corporate data feeds, I asked a simple question: Why not enlist our own members to crowdsource and check prices together?

2009 - 2026 – Seventeen Years in the Making

Bringing a vision this massive to life required an uncompromising amount of work. For the last 17 years, I have poured my engineering experience into the architectural development of the current **ShoppeMate ecosystem**.

Today – Sharing the Wealth via Network Savings

Heavily influenced by the exponential scale of viral network marketing, I realized we could empower neighbors to build true monthly cash flow simply by helping friends save on their household food bills. Today, there is a massive financial divide between the everyday people who work hard and the billionaire tech conglomerates who hoard all the wealth.

ShoppeMate was engineered to flip that model upside down. We don't answers to venture capital investors. Instead, we share our wealth with the community: paying members 1¢ for every single price check they log and generating a powerful dual-tier monthly cash-back network as families grow our collective footprint.

I have always wanted to give back to society in a meaningful way. I built ShoppeMate to be that vehicle—saving millions of hard-working families money while serving as a framework to put true wealth right back into our neighborhood's wallets.
